One of the great movies of the 20th Century, 'Some Like it Hoff' represents one of David's early suares into directing/producing/acting, as well as boosting the career of a certain Ms. Marilyn Munroff, David's first wife.
This was a significant departure for the movie industry as never before had the theme of cross-dressing for pleasure been an integral part of the plot. Indeed, the movement, which Mr. Hasselhoff started, to get transvestites accepted into the mainstream, didn't really take off until he released 'The Crying Game' in 1992.
David was rightly praised for this ground breaking work. Where others would have basked n their glory, David was moving on to his next project, democrcizing the old Soviet Block countries.
Always the modest man, when asked about his role in the film, David merely stated:
"What, The Crying Game? Give me a break will ya."
That's why we love you, David.
