If you're still unconvinced that David Hasselhoff is more than a mere hero, then I fear that you probably have no soul.
But don't take my word for it, take a look at these reviews for his 'Very Best of.....' album on Amazon.com:

Fantastic!!!

This dude makes the most life-affirming music in the history of mankind! I am a better woman for hearing his sensuous and seductive voice!
Hot Shot City was a paradigm of musical perfection!

The Icing on the Cake of Genius

I am listening to this collection of aural splendidness by the Hassel/Hoff duo and I am realizing that Brian Eno, Brian Wilson, and Phil Spector stole all of their ideas from Mr. Hassel and also to some extent Mr. Hoff. Credit where it is due.

The Best is just The BEST!

The Very Best of David Hasselhoff features songs released from 1989 to 1994. The cuts here show the range of Hasselhoff's vocal talent - from the rocking `Hot Shot City' to the tear jerking 'Yesterday's Love'. This release evokes emotion from the listener whether it is happiness or sadness.

'Everybody Sunshine' is a song almost guaranteed to set the listener's feet tapping and although the lyrics aren't the most awe inspiring, the song makes the listener feel good. What more can you ask? 'Looking For Freedom', both the song and the album, did amazing well in both Germany and Europe when it was released in 1989. All you have to listen to it and you know why. 'Du' is a beautiful tune and if I understood German, I am sure I would love it even more.

The more I listen to The Very Best Of David Hasselhoff, the more I am convinced that North America has missed out on not continuing to support this talented artist.

Innovator and Genius

Once in every generation you have gifted musical and literary geniuses who create bodies of work that can only be described as sublime transcendence. Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Shakespeare, Cervantes, Tolstoy - this pantheon of greatness can only be complete with the addition of none other than David Hasselhoff.
I was an athiest - depressed and lonely, until one day, I listened to "The Best Is Yet To Come", and my eyes were opened - I was thus convinced that God not only exists, but we are all ensconced in his presence.
If you truly love music and poetry, you must have this CD in your collection. For those who have grown world-weary and cynical, I challenge you to listen to gems like "Do the Limbo Dance", "Highway To Your Heart", "I Believe" and one particularly good song "Hot Shot City" (THE MASTERPIECE which exquisitely describes and defines the human condition) and tell me that life still has no meaning!
In terms of his contemporaries, forget clowns like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen or Tom Waits. The Hass-man blows them away. People will be studying and enjoying his poetry and music for generations.

How could this be...

I was a cynic, I'd done it all, seen it all, produced ledgends such as U2, Madonna, The Beatles, Tim Curry. As you would expect I had grown weary of the wild world of the music industry. The constant parties, dealing with drugged up losers hawking what scrap of talent they had left in thier war ravaged bodies to the highest bidder. So it would be no surprise to you folks that upon recieving Dumphil Hampersoft's "Very Best Of" album for christmas from my great grandaughter Clarise, I had almost chucked it out.
Almost.
But something about the man on the cover intrigued me. A quality I had seen before in others, John Lennon, Jimmy Hendrix, Elvis, Jesus. Overcome with, well I can't really describe it, I placed the compact disc tenderly in the tray of my 1993 original PanMax ghetto blaster and pressed Confabulate. The effect was instantanious. As if caressed by the most serene of angels my eardrums responded by rising in sweet symphony to the crests and troughs of His vocal sirens. Knees weak, I managed to make it to the couch where i slumped as I'd seen junkies do years before.
Slowly my life force was being sapped, but not in a bad way, I was becoming...I was seeing for the first time, hearing for the first time. Then Hot Shot City started to play. As if sitting on my fathers lap for the first time Dammerhinger's voice tenderly trailed the length of my neck, raising each hair on my body in an organic ode to greatness. It was done. I had found what I was looking for. The chase for the white dragon was over and I have only one person, one being to thank.
Thank you Drupil Handlestroff. You are truly great.

I was missing out!!!

After hearing "The Hoff" for the first time, I emerged from my room like a caveman unthawed from a glacier after aeons out of the loop, blinking in the blinding light of revelation!! This album has opened my eyes to a whole new, modern world of style, passion, and rippling, hair-covered pecs of which I was totally unaware!! Thank you, David, for showing me how beautifull the world truly is!! I am a particluar fan of Hot Shot City, which had me raving off the walls like a speed-crazed hyena!! Unbelievable!!

For all you other cavemen (and women) out there, please: buy this ablum as soon as humanly possible!! Or fasster!!

An 11 on the scale of manliness...

David Hasselhoff's collection of greatest hits is one of the most inspirational collections of our lifetime.
If you haven't listened to the Hoff, you don't know what you're missing. This man is truly an underappreciated living legend and a national treasure. The only thing wrong with this collection is that they had to pare it down to only 16 tracks!
Anything Hoff touches turns to gold, and a Hoff greatest hits collection could contain just about anything he's ever sang, even in the shower. With the guitars blazing and synthesizers synthesizing, the Hoff's powerful vocals are accompanied by a band a virtuosos.

This album will change your life, as it has mine...ever since I musked up and popped the Hoff's greatest hits into my Trans-Am last Saturday night (in Hot Shot City, nonetheless), I've been pulling more wool than I know what to do with...if only the Hoff wrote a manual that told me what to do with all this tail I'm now getting.

1. Higway To Your Heart --oh how you wish the Hoff was driving KITT on this highway
2. Dance Dance Damour --the Hoff knows not only the language, but the dance of love
3. Everybody Sunshine -- the sun always shines on the Hoff
4. Do The Limbo Dance -- you'll want to do the limbo dance...in the Hoff's pants
5. These Lovin Eyes --and don't you wish Hoff gazed his lovin' eyes on you
6. Lonely Is The Night --a bit of irony, as the Hoff rarely has a lonely night...so many ladies, so little time
7. Looking For Freedom --US troops blasted this in Iraqi villages on the march to Baghdad
8. I Believe -- Theme From Baywatch
9. The Best Is Yet To Come --Hoff's just getting you warmed up for 'Hot Shot City'
10. Je Taime Means I Love You -- The worldly Hoff speaks the language of love.
11. Yesterdays Love -- with all the ladies that have loved Hoff, this could be about anybody
12. Flying On The Wings Of Tenderness -- Hoff shows his soft side
13. Crazy For You -- Every lady's (and most men) dream..Hoff going crazy for your love
14. Hot Shot City -- The Hoff lets everyone know how he parties down on a Saturday night.
15. After Manana Mi Ciello -- The Hoff's trilingual? The man never ceases to amaze me
16. Du - My God! He's a quadroped

Hasselhoff Saved MY LIFE

I used to be severly drepressed. I tried to take my own life 4 times. After my parents and my younger sister died in an auto accident 6 years ago, I didn't think I was going to make it to see 18. I'm 22 now, and I really believe that I owe it all to David Hasselhoff.

His work on television is filled with inspiration and gives hope to his viewers, and it's only surpassed by his music.
When I was about to try the 5th time to kill myself, I heard one of his songs through the thin walls of my dingy apartment. It lifted my spirit up, distracted me from the endless suffering. I found hope. I asked my neighbour who was on their stereo, she replied "David Hasselhoff, of course"
Of course!
I took a shower, and made my way to the music store 7 blocks away in the freezing rain and sleet. I bought 4 of his albums right away.
I'm 22 now. You readers don't know how difficult it was to get through each day. Now, I just listen to David sing when I wake up, when I feel down, when I am stressed out, and when I go to sleep.

I'm alive today, because of David Hasselhoff.

Hands down, BEST. ALBUM. EVER!

I've been blessed with many good memories in my life, and most of them involve listening to this album. The first time I remember hearing it (how could I forget) was at my post college graduation party. The rest of the guys on the cheerleading squad and I had gotten together to share some wine and listen to cool tunes. When my teammate put this album in, little did I know my life would change forever.

David's voice seemed to be otherwordly, and all the notes seemed to fit into some higher order. It was poetic, mathematic, mysterious, all at the same time. I had to excuse myself, hoping the others would not see the tears that I had shed thinking of the pure beauty in the music. The beauty.

Since then, i've met the woman of my dreams and as luck would have it, she happens to be a 'hoff fan as well. Again, I am blessed to have 'Hoff' and his music in my life. In fact, I'm doing my part to ensure his legacy lives on past his years on this earth. By that I mean my wife and I listen to the greatest hits album each night as we carefully plan the conception of our first child. The passion, the love, the beauty. I can't help but think it will make us all better people, and maybe someday, a better culture altogether.

God bless you David!

There is a cheaper way to buy movies & CD's. I bought THE VERY BEST... on buy.com for $9 something but the total was $12.96 & amazon.com wants $30 something for this CD. I still listen to the CD whenever I want some peace & quiet, stressed or when I just want to hear David voice. This is a wonderful CD & he should be proud for doing a great job!
