The world of david hasselhoff, from baywatch to knightrider, just dont hassel the hoff

14th August 2006 : A Shrine to David Hasselhoff

British rockers The Automatic have an unusual request on their backstage rider - they insist concert venues build a shrine to David Hasselhoff in their dressing room.

The group, who recently scored a massive UK hit with their song "Monster", are huge fans of the Baywatch actor.

Frontman Robin Hawkins explains,

"We ask for a shrine to David Hasselhoff in our rider and people are taking us seriously.
"I would like to meet him and tell him he is a role model for us and to look after himself.
"Bristol Academy (in England) did a fantastic job on the Hoff front. They draped a leopard skin over a table and had action men posters on the wall. It was really impressive."

Among the many crimes that reality TV will have to answer for in the television hereafter is making stars out of people who don't necessarily deserve it.

We're not talking about the contestants on the various so-you-think-you-can-dance-sing-yodel-or-juggle shows, although we could. We're talking about the judges.

Paula Abdul was a former cheerleader, choreographer and pop star when she was reinvented on Fox's "American Idol."

She is now more famous for her incoherent comments as a judge than she ever was in her previous careers. And, to give either her or the people who cast her credit, it's hard to imagine the show without the impaired dynamic she brings.

This summer's Paula Abdul is David Hasselhoff on "America's Got Talent."

The former "Knight Rider," "Baywatch" and European disco star has been reborn as a reality show judge - the guy who cheers on the talent with a simple "awesome."

First, we have to point out what an odd show this is.

The former world's greatest actor – who filed for divorce from his wife of 16 years, Pamela Bach earlier this year – says he loves it when attractive female fans grab his assets.

He told Britain's Heat magazine:

"This one particular night at a nightclub, I had girls grabbing my crotch. I had my shirt ripped! The women – my God! They were grabbing my crotch, my a**e. They were cute too!"

The 54-year-actor is not the only celebrity, who enjoys being mobbed by adoring fans.
Justin Timberlake (who? -Ed) revealed last month he finds being groped "arousing".

He said:

"I don't get chatted up now. I just get grabbed and groped - it's uncomfortable, but arousing."

Meanwhile, Hasselhoff has revealed he has crush on Kate Beckinsale and recently tried to seduce the married 'Van Helsing' beauty.

He said:

"I whispered in her ear the other day at a premiere, 'I'll give you everything I have'. She just laughed. But when she met me initially, she seemed very excited."
